Some coordinators like to add shore activities to their event to engage participants and their siblings who may have finished fishing earlier than expected. These ideas are entirely optional but have proved a success at some of our events.

Participant Ideas:

  • Character costumes, Mickey Mouse, Woodsy Owl, etc…
  • Casting contest
  • Sheetcake, cupcakes or cookies (e.g. shaped like a fish) for dessert
  • Photo booth for goofy photos
  • Falconry exhibit
  • Coloring sheets
  • Sidewalk chalk
  • Coast Guard exhibit with fun toys for kids
  • Clown handing out balloons
  • Face painting
  • Casting game (bring casting weights and have kids tie them on and practice casting)
  • Bean bag toss
  • Ring toss
  • Stickers
  • Goodie bags
  • Cotton candy machine
  • Popcorn machine
  • Snow cone machine
  • Crafts
  • Cheer squad

Thank You Gifts for Boaters:

  • C.A.S.T. cap embroidered with “Boat Captain” (see event order form)
  • sunglasses
  • sunscreen
  • long-sleeve fishing shirt

Parent Ideas:

  • Event itinerary to handout: this is a great way to inform parents about what they can expect and gives you another opportunity to showcase and thank your sponsors.
