Public Relations Talking Points – Q&A

What is the C.A.S.T for Kids Foundation Mission & Vision?

At the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation (C.A.S.T. = Catch A Special Thrill), we believe every child is worth celebrating, can overcome limitations and have a victorious day. Through a joyful day of fishing, kids, their families and community volunteers come together for an explosion of fun and inspiration. C.A.S.T for Kids Foundation hosts annual fishing and boating events across America to fulfill our mission of providing populations with special needs the opportunity to enjoy a quality outdoor recreational experience fishing on the water.

What is C.A.S.T. for Kids?

C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation is a public charity that was formed in 1991 to connect volunteers who love to fish with children who have special needs for a day of fishing in the outdoors. The Foundation became an official 501(c)3 in 1994 and currently hosts the C.A.S.T. for Kids program.

What are the C.A.S.T. for Kids Programs?

C.A.S.T. for Kids Program: Designed to create an environment where special needs children and their caretakers can leave their problems on shore and share a day of fun on the water that they may not otherwise get to experience.  The charity furthers its mission by increasing awareness of children with disabilities and disadvantages in communities across the nation and teaching appreciation for natural resources. This is all made possible through the cooperation of family, friends, fishing clubs, government agencies, national and local sponsors, and local interest groups—creating a unique and positive experience for America’s youth.

How do your sponsorships help enrich the lives of children with special needs?

Through your sponsorship, you are part of the movement to help children with special needs enjoy a special day of fishing and boating. The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation works tirelessly to improve the lives of children across the entire country by hosting events in local communities. The work we do impacts everyone, regardless of where the funds are raised.

Here’s how we put your dollars to work: funds provide a day of fishing, fishing gear (rod and reel), tackle box, t-shirts, cap, plaque, and lunch. It also provides core mission support to the Foundation so it can serve the C.A.S.T. for Kids events nationwide.
